I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the State of Maine. I specialize in treating anxiety and depression, relationship issues, substance use and co-occurring disorders. I have been in the counseling profession for 20 years, practicing in a variety of outpatient settings.
It became abundantly clear to me in my earlier years of treating substance use that mental health issues often go hand in hand. I maintain dual licensure so that I can treat these issues simultaneously and reduce the need for patients to find multiple providers – one to treat substance use, one to treat mental health. My experience in this field has given me an appreciation of the degree to which depression, anxiety, addiction and other conditions can impact a person’s, as well as a family’s, life. I fully believe that we all have the potential to grow and make positive changes in our lives and am honored to be present during this process for each and every person that I sit with.
It is incredibly important to me that I bring my authentic self to every session. I live by the quote, “I’m nothing if not human”. You can expect genuineness, honesty, transparency and humor to be incorporated into our work together.
Whether you have struggled longterm or have just recently begun to not feel your best, no one has to deal with these things alone. I’m here to help.
